Best Heels Songs

On the occasion of the April Fool’s Day, we wanted to go on a lighter note and decided to make a list of our favourite shoe songs. You know, “These Boots Are Made For Walking” and “Blue Suede Shoes”… Then we realised there are hundreds of these lists already published featuring same songs over and over again. So we decided we’ll make a list of songs that have heels in it.

Admittedly, there are not so many heels-songs and most have not gone further from head over heels expression, but every era has some. Youtube got us back as far as to 60s and Elvis Presley with “Wheels On My Heels”. After that, songs became mostly dedicated to boots ’n’ shoes, but things changed in the 80s when ABBA and The Go-Go’s both decided to release a song named “Head Over Heels”. Spoiler: they were not the only ones. After a decade of making covers on previous songs, the new millennia greeted us with a wave of songs with heels in their title and looks like this trend is showing no signs of cooling. Unfortunately, not all of these songs are actually good so let’s skip Youtube links here.

But now, without further ado, let us introduce the top 3 of our favourite songs on heels:

Although the singer did not ring any bell to the slightly music-ignorant part of our team, the tune itself did bring back some memories. Alain Clark and yet another “Head Over Heels” title deserve a bronze medal in our list.

“Hell On Heels” by Pistol Annies is a source of gazillion covers in Youtube and lands on the honourable second position. Enjoy the original flavour or find a cover to your taste in Youtube.

Grand old man of heels songs – it’s Tears For Fears and their “Head Over Heels”. Surely you have heard the original, but we love-love-love the version by Digital Daggers, part of The Vampire Diaries soundtrack.
